Rumore Digitale

Rumore digitale (Digital Noise) is a song about the way people communicate, argue, and judge one another in a world increasingly shaped by screens, comments, and words placed under constant scrutiny.

The lyrics move between Italian and German, two very different languages used not just for sound, but to strengthen the contrast between emotion and control, spontaneity and regulation.

The song portrays a world where everyone seems ready to speak, but very few are truly willing to listen. Words are weighed, corrected, labelled, and endlessly debated. Yet language, precisely because it is alive, keeps moving, changing direction, and escaping any attempt to lock it into fixed rules.

“Rumore digitale” does not celebrate confusion. It defends the idea that communication is not only about form, but also about recognising the living human presence behind the words.

The words.

Intro

Oh oh

Sag mir was du willst

oh oh

parla pure, io resto qui

Strofa 1

Auf der timeline tutti pronti a giudicare

chi decide cosa è giusto dire e come parlare?

Na na, tutto gira e poi va giù

La la, sag mir was willst du

Strofa 2

troppa forma, poco cuore, tutto troppo intenso

Se mi parli piano io capisco già

non servono etichette per dirsi la verità

die Sprache lebt, si muove senza te

non puoi chiuderla dentro a un perché

Bridge

Bridge 2

Parole che cadono, restano a metà

zwischen uns entsteht eine neue Realität

Non serve gridare per farsi capire

a volte basta solo restare e sentire

Finale

Oh oh

resta qui

oh oh

bleib bei mir

oh oh

senza più rumore

oh oh

nur wir zwei

BEHIND THE SONG

How it began.

How the song was born

With “Rumore digitale”, I wanted to move away from more personal or emotional subjects and focus on something that affects all of us today: the way we speak, and above all the way we react to other people’s words.

Working at school gives me the opportunity to observe how delicate communication has become. Every word can be interpreted, judged, corrected, or debated. On top of that, there is the digital world, where everyone comments, everyone reacts, and almost nobody truly stops to listen.

That observation became the starting point for this song.

I wasn’t trying to write a song against rules or against respect. What interested me was the opposite risk: the moment when attention to form becomes so obsessive that we lose sight of what a person is actually trying to say.

That is why the song keeps returning to the idea that language is alive. Words are not fixed objects. They move, shift, and take on different meanings depending on who uses them, in what context, and at what moment.

The German sections come from that same intention. I didn’t use them as decoration, but as an expressive choice. German has a sharper, rougher, more physical sound, and that harshness felt right for conveying the pressure, judgement, and noise described in the song.

I also liked the contrast with Italian, which brings more fluidity and emotional closeness into the lyrics.

So although “Rumore digitale” is a song about language, it is really a song about people. About how easily we get lost in endless debate, forgetting that behind every voice there is someone trying, however imperfectly, to be heard.

Keep listening.
