Siamo Nella Notte

With “Siamo nella notte”, I enjoyed experimenting mainly with the structure of dance music.

Some songs begin with a story, with the music built around it. This time, I approached things from the opposite direction: imagining the movement of the track first and using the vocals to highlight its different sections.

The idea is a dancefloor already full of people, with the DJ keeping the energy high and short vocal calls appearing between the musical sections.

I liked alternating Italian and English naturally, without worrying about elaborate sentences. In this kind of music, even four words can be more effective than an entire verse if they arrive at exactly the right moment.

I also made room for vocalisations, short instrumental transitions, and a central break that changes the intensity before the rhythm returns.

There's even a direct reference to the DJ, because I wanted the track to feel connected to the atmosphere of a dance event, with the vocals almost interacting with the crowd.

I wasn't looking to hide a complicated meaning in the lyrics. I wanted to experiment with the relationship between rhythm, words, and repetition.

And sometimes it's simply enjoyable to compose something without asking too many questions.

That's the musical idea behind “Siamo nella notte”: bringing a few simple elements together and letting their rhythmic interaction give the track its personality.
